Only now beginning to feel (slightly) recovered after a whirlwind week and change at Dublin International Film Festival 2025.
I’ve been so blown away by the response to Peat and still slightly in shock at receiving a Special Mention in the Irish Short Film Category, thank you so much to Paige Cameron and the rest of the jury for the honour! And now I see we’re also in the Top Five favourite short films chosen by the festival audiences (with ‘Naked Lights’ by Jeda de Brí being the deserved winner)
Thank you to Gráinne, Áine, Sam, Aisha and the rest of the festival team for the Discovery Award nomination alongside a murders' row of incredible talent, not least my good pals Clare Monnelly Aisling Byrne and new pals Conor McCormick, Albert Hooi, Cara Loftus, Reuben Harvey, Carol Tormey and Florence Adebambo, and for treating us so well all week.
Huge congratulations to the Discovery Award winners.
A massive thank you to Screen Ireland for taking a chance on my oddball idea and to all the wonderful cast, crew and facilities houses that gave support, sweat and talent to the project. I hope you’re all as proud of it as I am.
,
And of course to my producer Maggie Ryan, without whose tireless support, love and friendship I wouldn’t have any of these wonderful opportunities to gush about.
